Vacation at Folly Beach

We are home from vacation and what a great one it was! WOW! What a difference 10 months makes. Jackson had the best time and we enjoyed watching him explore. We were not able to check in until 4:00 Monday afternoon, so we ran lots of errands before we made it there. We unpacked and ate dinner. It was about 6:30 by the time we finished everything, but Jason and I could not wait to take Jackson on the beach. We decided to go ahead and take him down and the boy was in heaven. Jackson discovered his 3 favorite things when we got to the beach....sand, water, and a dog. Here he is the first day on the beach.....

Jackson's first look at the beach

He could not resist....he had to get in the water

As you can see, he really enjoyed himself. He was so dirty....

that Daddy had to give him a shower before we went back in.

We had a week full of fun, family, and friends. Jackson loves the water, so he truly was in heaven. From building sand castles with Daddy and tearing them down, to walking in the water, to riding the golf cart, and enjoying family and friends, I would say Jackson along with Mommy and Daddy had a very relaxing vacation. We certainly were not ready to come home. You know you've had a great vacation when your not ready to come home. Here are a few stories to tell about Jackson's vacation....

Jackson had the best time playing in the sand, even with the buckets that were as big as him. Jackson and Mommy spent lots of time together on the beach. I do not have to worry about Jackson not wanting to go to the beach. He is still talking about the beach. The first morning back, Jackson got up talking about beach and water.
Jackson had lots of family and friends come to enjoy the beach with him. Here are the Wardlaws and the Youngs all playing together in the water. This was a great day. We spent the whole day on the beach and no one got burned. The kids played in the water and sand, flew kites, ate snacks and drank juices.
Daddy and Jackson also spent lots of time on the beach. Poor Daddy had to stay covered alot, but he still loves the beach. I love this picture of my boys!

Jackson loved the Golf Cart. You can ask him today what he rode at the beach and he will still get excited and say golf cart. He woke up every morning asking Papa to take him on the golf cart. I told Papa he started something the first day he rode. We just did not know it would be a daily occurence and multiple times a day.
Uncle George and his family were all at James Island. They came over to the beach house on Wednesday for dinner and we had a great time. On Friday, Uncle George was admitted to the Charleston VA. His WBC was dangerously low and he was not doing well. We had our family reunion on Saturday and Uncle George was determined to be there. After lots of begging and pleading with the doctors, they agreed to release him for 2 hours. He was so excited to be there. It was emotioal time, but we were all so thankful to have him there.

This is Jason's cousins little girl. She is 10 years old and what I would do to have her in Columbia. They live in Charleston. She was absolutley wonderul with Jackson and Jackson loved her. They played well together and Erika was a wonderful sitter for Jackson. She did not leave his side and took very good care of him. Thanks Erika!
Jackson had lots of toddlers to play with. Here he is with some of his cousins.
