Savannah had her 2 year checkup this morning. This visit was probably her worst visit yet. In the past, she got over shots very quickly. That was not the case this time. She cried from the moment she got the shot until the moment we walked out the door. It broke my heart!
Savannah got her finger pricked at this visit to check her iron. Unfortunately, her iron was on the low end. When her pediatrician was asking about her drinking milk, I told her that Savannah drinks lots of milk and is always begging for it. She then said that it explained her iron being so low. Apparently, when a child drinks alot of milk, it's hard for their body to absorb the iron. She wants me to put Savannah on a daily vitamin with iron and only give her 3 sippy cups of milk a day. This is going to be very hard!!! I am worried about Savannah loosing weight if we cut back on her milk because she is not that great of a eater. We will be checking her iron level and weight again when Jackson goes for his 4 year check up in February.
Savannah's is staying on the low end of weight, but she has definitely gone through a growth spurt. She has jumped up to the 38th percentile in height. Here are her 2 year old statistics:
Height: 33 1/2 - 38th percentile
Weight: 23lbs - 5th percentile
HC: 19 - 68th percentile
